We’ve gathered the most common answers to help you prepare for an amazing weekend of battles, prizes, and Pokémon fun.
-
It is a large, official tournament where competitors compete in the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), Pokémon Video Game (VG), and Pokémon GO (GO) categories.
There are categories for children (Junior), teenagers (Senior), and adults (Master); the winners of each category receive different prizes, as well as invitations to the Pokémon World Championships. All the prize details can be found on the official Pokémon website.
-
To gain access, you must have registered and paid on the RK9 website; you can enter as a Competitor in one of the categories, or as a Spectator. However, we no longer have tickets available.
-
Check-in is the moment when attendees confirm, in person, their participation in the event. This action takes place on Friday at 14:00 and ends that same day at 20:00, outside the convention center.
Upon successful check-in, attendees will receive a wristband which will grant them access to the event on Saturday. The difference between check-in and late check-in is that the latter is the last opportunity for competitors to register and confirm their in-person participation in the
tournament. To check in successfully, the attendee must present themselves at the convention center and will be asked to show official photo identification. For Mexican attendees, a passport, INE (Mexican ID card), or driver’s license is valid; for any foreign attendee, the only valid document is their passport.
Minor attendees must be accompanied by their guardian to check in in person. Guardians must present their official photo ID.
-
The competitor kit is given to all competitors who have shown up in person to compete. It includes a promotional playmat and a special event card. It is important to clarify that the competitor kit cannot be given to anyone other than the registered user and cannot be delivered later.
-
All attendees (competitors, parents, and spectators) will be able to purchase official merchandise at the guest merchants, participate in casual and competitive tournaments called Side Events, or learn how to play TCG in the First Steps area. We’ll also have a couple of exclusive surprises!
-
If a competitor has limited mobility or a medical condition, they can request a fixed table so they don’t have to move around during the tournament. We recommend making this request during check-in, however, it can be requested at any time during the event. If the event has already started, you can request it from the Hive staff, and the table will be assigned for the next round.
-
Yes, all competitors under 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Guardians must wait in the designated area for them.
-
No, all competitors under 18 years of age must check in with their parent or guardian.
-
No, guardians or parents must be present throughout the event. If a minor is left alone and we become aware of this, we will have the minor competitor call their guardian to return for them, and they will then be removed from the tournament.
